Yoga Teacher Training
The Certificate IV in Yoga Teaching is your first step into teaching yoga. Not only is this course recognised with Yoga Alliance and Yoga Australia, but it is also an ASQA (Australian Skills Quality Authority) accredited national course, which can enhance its international standing because Australia has one of the most internationally recognised vocational education systems anywhere in the world.
This course will prepare students to:
- Establish client relationships
- Develop your own yoga practice
- Monitor a client’s yoga technique and development
- Provide yoga teaching to groups of clients
- Recognise healthy bodies
- Apply anatomy and physiology to yoga teaching
- Undertake small business planning and manage compliance
- Deliver first aid.
The Diploma of Yoga Teaching allows you to progress and develop your yoga career. This national qualification allows you to be an advanced yoga teacher. You will deepen your yoga skills and knowledge, learning specialised skills to work with individuals at various life stages and those with special needs and chronic conditions.
This course will prepare students to:
- Conduct yoga lifestyle assessments
- Develop advanced teaching techniques
- Adapt yoga for different life stages, conditions or special needs
- Undertake research
- Provide advice on nutrition
- Apply advanced anatomy and physiology to yoga teaching
- Undertake small business planning and manage compliance
- Extend your personal practice
- Deliver first aid.
International students must:
- Be at least 18 years of age
- Provide evidence of completing at least the equivalent of Australian Year 10 OR equivalent
- English language evidence

- IELTS, PTE, etc. The test result must be valid within 2 years at the time of the visa application.
- Some Education Institutions offer an in-house English Placement Test that you can take to meet the English entry requirements.
- Exemptions apply if:
– you are a citizen and hold a passport from UK, USA, Canada, NZ or Republic of Ireland
– you are enrolled in a principal course of study that is a registered school course, a standalone English Language Intensive Course for Overseas Students (ELICOS), a course registered to be delivered in a language other than English, or a registered post-graduate research course
– you have completed at least 5 years of study in English in one or more of the following countries: Australia, UK, USA, Canada, New Zealand, South Africa, or the Republic of Ireland.

The job outcomes for the Certificate IV are:
At this level, yoga teachers will be equipped with the essential components to understand the yoga asanas (physical postures of yoga), differences in yoga styles, anatomy, ethics, philosophy of yoga teaching and risks associated with opening a yoga business. After attainment graduates of the Certificate IV Qualification can register as a Level 2 (intermediate level) accredited teacher with Yoga Australia or the International Yoga Teachers Association.

The job outcomes for the Diploma are:
At diploma level, the qualification offers comprehensive training into advanced yoga teaching techniques. Those qualified, will have the specialised skills needed to work with individuals at various life stages, tailor classes for special needs or offer a deeper teaching practice into pranayama (breath work) and meditation. Graduates of the Diploma qualification may be eligible to become an accredited senior teacher with Yoga Australia or the International Yoga Teachers Association (subject to length of time they have been in the industry).

- Yoga studio owner/manager
- Specialist yoga teacher working within niche markets e.g. different life stages, special needs, advanced techniques and chronic conditions.
