Where do we send the results?

In this degree, students will learn about construction and building practices, developing a rigorous understanding of construction law and ethics, business management, construction economics, and property development in a global context.

Students will be introduced to the principles of built environment, learning the fundamentals of construction sustainability, project development, construction materials and site operations. From the third year, students will undertake in-depth study of core construction business areas including estimating, tendering, planning and procurement, with a strong focus on ICT applications in the built environment. In the final year, students will grow their professional skills through an industry placement. Graduates will have the confidence to take on complex projects and make a real impact on the built environment.

 

Core Course Areas will cover everything from the nuts and bolts of construction management to the big-picture stuff like sustainability and finance.

  • Construction Management Fundamentals: Covering project planning, scheduling, budgeting, and risk management.
  • Quantity Surveying: Understanding cost estimation, contract administration, and procurement.
  • Construction Law and Contracts: Legal frameworks governing the construction industry.
  • Construction Technology: Exploring the latest construction materials, methods, and equipment.
  • Project Management: Developing leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Building Design and Construction: Understanding architectural principles and construction processes.
  • Sustainable Construction: Incorporating environmentally friendly practices into projects.

Business and Finance: Managing financial aspects of construction projects.
