How do I enroll in a heavy diesel mechanic course in Australia?

Published: Jul 28, 2020

To enrol in a heavy diesel mechanic course, you’ll need to complete Pathway to Aus’ enrolment form, meet English and student visa requirements, and receive a Confirmation of Enrolment (CoE).

Steps to enrol in a Heavy Diesel Mechanic course in Australia:

  • Fill out the Pathway to Aus enrolment questionnaire.
  • Provide academic history and passport copy if requested.
  • Submit English test results (IELTS, PTE or equivalent), unless exempt.
  • Receive a Confirmation of Enrolment (CoE).
  • Use the CoE to apply for a Student Visa (subclass 500).

International students can’t undertake a traditional apprenticeship, but can complete a 24‑month vocational qualification (Certificate III in Automotive Heavy Mechanical Technology), which may later allow a Graduate Visa pathway. Skills assessment is done via Trade Recognition Australia (TRA).
