The Diploma of Leisure and Health is a course designed for those with the passion to provide personal, physical and emotional, support for those who experience barriers at independent living.

The Diploma of Leisure and Health is a course designed for those with the passion to provide personal, physical and emotional, support for those who experience barriers at independent living. With particular focus on the elderly, youth, children, families and those with disabilities.

The Diploma of Leisure and Health will provide you with the knowledge and confidence required to care for members of the community. Throughout your study you will how to:
• Plan and implement leisure and recreational activity programs
• Provide leisure education
• Identify individual needs and abilities
• Assess the client’s level of interest and capability in a range of activities
• Encourage and support participation
• Train and supervise volunteers and other staff
• Access community resources
Completing this course will provide you with the possibilities to work within and range of health and community industries, nursing homes, and aged care facilities.

1. Students need to be at least 18 years old.
2. Academic requirement: Completion of Australian Year 12 OR overseas equivalent.
3. Present English language proficiency evidence

      • IELTS, PTE, etc. (IELTS: 6.0 overall – no band less than 5.5; OR equivalent). The test result must be valid within 2 years at the time of the visa application.
      • Some Education Institutions offer an in-house English Placement Test that you can take to meet the English entry requirements.
      • Exemptions apply if:
        – you are a citizen and hold a passport from UK, USA, Canada, NZ or Republic of Ireland
        – you are enrolled in a principal course of study that is a registered school course, a standalone English Language Intensive Course for Overseas Students (ELICOS), a course registered to be delivered in a language other than English, or a registered post-graduate research course
        – you have completed at least 5 years of study in English in one or more of the following countries: Australia, UK, USA, Canada, New Zealand, South Africa, or the Republic of Ireland.
