Diploma and Advanced Diploma

Diploma and Advanced Diploma of Cyber Security

The Diploma and Advanced Diploma of Cyber Security are designed for international students who want practical skills for Australia’s growing cyber security industry.

These courses focus on how to protect computer systems, networks, and data from cyber threats in real workplace settings.

Students learn hands-on skills in areas such as network security, identifying cyber risks, system monitoring, and responding to security incidents. The Diploma covers the fundamentals, while the Advanced Diploma builds stronger technical skills and deeper understanding of cyber security systems.

These courses may suit students looking for entry-level to intermediate cyber security roles or those planning to continue into further study, depending on individual goals and experience.

Some courses may support eligibility for post-study work options, including the Temporary Graduate (Subclass 485) visa, subject to current visa rules and individual circumstances. Completing a course does not guarantee employment or visa outcomes.

To enrol in the Diploma or Advanced Diploma of Cyber Security in Australia, these are generally required to meet the following:

Academic Requirements

  • Completion of Year 12 (or equivalent)

  • For the Advanced Diploma, completion of the Diploma of Cyber Security or a related IT qualification may be required, depending on the provider

English Language Requirements

  • IELTS 6.0 overall (or equivalent), with no band below provider requirements

    • IELTS (commonly overall 6.0 or equivalent), or another accepted test such as PTE, TOEFL, OET, etc.
