Certificate III in Aged Care (Duration 6 months)
The Certificate III in Aged Care prepares people to work and care for seniors in the Community, Aged care facilities & other Environments. This is a entry level qualification so it provides you with the basics you need to know and understand to undertake a job in this field. You not only learn about how to assist seniors in a care facility but also how to socialise and engage with them on a personal level.
Certificate IV in Aged Care (6 months – 12 months)
Aged care is a very rewarding profession, as you helping out the senior members of the community. Employees with these qualifications are in very high demand. The course is designed for students to learn skills that would allow them to care for elderly patients at aged care residential facilities. The Certificate IV not only provides you with the skills you need to care for seniors in your community. It also provides you with the skills of working directly with medical professionals in a Aged care facility.
As part of their studies, students will be placed at local aged care facilities to learn valuable practical experience in the industry.
Some of the topics covered in the course are:
- Assist people in an aged care setting
- Prepare individualised plans
- Prepare reports for supervisors

So the cost varies with the different schools. You can expect to pay roughly around $10,000 AUD per year.
The course intakes dates are generally in July and January, however some schools offer intake dates every month.
