Courses that DO NOT provide strong PR prospects in Australia – Watch before Studying

In this video, Brad reviews different course options that do not provide applicants with strong permanent residency prospects. Before studying in Australia, it is important to always have a clear goal in mind. Be sure to touch base with a skilled education agent who can run you through different options with you.

We have listed 3 of the Worst Courses to study when trying to obtain PR in Australia.

  1. Diploma of Business

Pros:

  • Shorter duration: Diplomas are generally shorter in duration compared to bachelor’s degrees, allowing you to enter the workforce or progress to higher studies more quickly.
  • Cost Effective: Diplomas are often more affordable than bachelor’s degrees, helping you save on tuition fees and living expenses.
  • Diverse Learning Environment: Australia attracts students from around the world, giving you the opportunity to learn in a culturally diverse environment and broaden your perspectives.

Cons:

  • Employability Concerns: Depending on the job market and demand for specific skills, securing a job after completing a Diploma may be competitive.
  • Visa Restrictions: While studying, international students need to comply with visa regulations, including maintaining a minimum attendance rate and meeting academic requirements.
  • No guarantee of PR: Completion of a Diploma does not guarantee permanent residency: you need to meet specific immigration criteria and requirements.
  1. Cert IV /Diploma in Accounting

  • Despite accounting being an in high demand occupation in Australia, this is one hardest paths to take to lead to PR.
  • To obtain a skilled migration visa for accounting, you need to submit the relevant documentation that proves the assessment of your accounting skills by CPA Australia and is labeled as suitable for your target occupation.
  • There is so much competition in applying for accounting positions. A bachelor’s degree or Masters in accounting is more likely to be selected for a position than those who study a cert IV or diploma.
  1. Diploma of Leadership and Management

Pros:

  • Can be a strategic course for those looking to extend their stay in Australia.
  • Can open up doors to further educational opportunities. It can serve as a stepping stone, enabling you to progress to an advanced diploma, an undergraduate degree or even a postgraduate program in the future.
