Australian Borders Opening for International Students

YouTube video

The Australian Borders are Finally Open!!!

The Australian Government has announced that most vaccinated visa holders will be able to enter Australia from Dec 1st, including student visa holders, without the need for a travel exemption! You must hold a valid visa, be fully vaccinated and return a negative PCR test within three days of departing for Australia.

Because of the different rules in each state and territory, only New South Wales, Victoria and the Australian Capital Territory will allow travellers to fly in without quarantining.
Queensland plans to open its internal border with NSW on December 17th, so this could potentially open a pathway into QLD for students studying in the state, but the details of how this could work are not yet confirmed. We hope to have these details soon, keep an eye on this page for updates.

To be considered fully vaccinated you must has had two doses at least 14 days apart of:

  • AstraZeneca Vaxzevria
  • AstraZeneca Covishield
  • Pfizer/Biontech Comirnaty
  • Moderna Spikevax
  • Sinovac Coronavac
