As of 1 July 2026, the National Minimum Wage in Australia is $26.44 an hour or $1,004.90 a week, following a Fair Work Commission increase. This is the rate for employees not covered by an award or registered agreement; most awards, including those covering beauty and retail, set higher classified rates plus penalties and overtime. Casual employees also receive a 25% loading on top of these rates.
