Beauty therapists in Brisbane usually earn 24 to 34 dollars per hour, or $49,920 to $70,720 full time. Busy inner city clinics and premium salons offer higher rates, commissions, and penalties. Senior therapists and coordinators can earn even more depending on skills and sales performance.
Pay reflects clinic service mix and location. Fortitude Valley and CBD clinics pay more for advanced facials and device treatments. Weekend work brings penalty rates. Building a loyal client list and strong retail results boosts income and job security.
What affects pay
✔ Experience & qualifications: More training (Cert IV, Diploma, advanced courses) often means higher pay.
✔ Specialisations: Laser, advanced skin treatments, spa management or dermal therapy can boost income.
✔ Employer & location: High‑end spas or clinics often pay more than small salons, and central Brisbane roles may pay more than outer suburbs.
