The Northern Territory recently came out with its State Occupation List in January. The Northern Territory Migration State Occupation List is a list of occupations that the NT State Government believes are in demand in the NT and eligible for NT nomination under the General Skilled Migration Program (Subclass 190 or 489 visa).

The list is huge and includes hundreds of occupations, many of which were not available on any other state list. Please refer to the NT Government website for a full list of requirements here

What this means is that occupations which previously had no chance of obtaining a permanent work visa to Australia, now may have options. For example occupations like Enrolled Nurse is on the Northern Territory Migration list, whilst it is not on many other lists.
