Secure an Approved Sponsor

You must have an organisation that can sponsor you for the training.

Generally, the sponsoring organisation must be approved as a Temporary Activities Sponsor.

Identify the Appropriate Type of Occupational Training

There are three types of occupational training covered under the Subclass 407:

Training needed to obtain registration, membership or licensing for an occupation.

Occupational training to improve skills in an eligible occupation

If the visa is granted, you can undertake the occupational training or professional development program approved for your visa.

The Subclass 407 is a temporary visa and may allow a stay of up to two years. Visa holders must comply with the conditions attached to their individual visa.
