Studying the right trade can create a realistic migration pathway, but it does not guarantee PR. A successful pathway combines four things:

  • A qualification in a skilled occupation on Australia’s shortage lists
  • Relevant work experience in that occupation
  • A successful skills assessment through Trades Recognition Australia
  • Eligibility for a skilled or employer-sponsored visa
